This paper examines what the religious conflict in Ireland was based on. Way back to the reformation some one could easily be killed if a Catholic group met a Protestant or the opposite. Today there are groups, like the IRA who is a rebellion group made by Catholics, who terrorising to show the rest of the world that they still fights for their rights. The study investigated what the different between a protestant and a catholic is and why they cannot get to agreement like they can in the rest of the world. The main problems are politic and religion. Today it is mainly politic but in the pass there were a big division between the two religion groups. If the peace shall continue there are certain things that are needed to be done. One thing is that the Irish people have to lay the past behind them instead of living in fear for that the conflict will start again. Gladly it looks like the two religion groups are getting to agreement. The enemies has met each together, talked and finally made a government. Sadly the Catholic priest Adrian Tony tells that the peace will not last for long because there only need to happen one little mistake and it all starts again. It is concluded that the Catholics and Protestants have some of the same hopes. They both wanted destroying and corruption between them, but in the future they might hope for peace.
