hej skal snart op til mundtilig engelsk og vil høre om der er nogle der kan hjælpe mig med analyse af "Town"
Town:
In notting Hill the blacks go round
Saudis in Rolls in mews abound.
Nurses and beauties in the leafy ride
Sqirrels and vagabonds in parks abide.
Bobbies and ´models´have their beats
Bowlers and jackets stroll the streets.
At nine by bus the kids to school
Green cap, green tie, green uniform the rule.
Nice suited figures to the commons go
To fight the peoples´s interest blow by bloww.
But Mac rests by Abbey´s wall
Waching a flight of pigeons swoop and fall
Brown paper bag - sweet british wine
the heart of empire lies supine.
Spørgsmål
1) Describe the rhyme scheme.
2) Discuss in detail what the poem is about. Whar are the main poins?
3) Why is the poem divided into two parts.

Vil høre om der ikke er nogle som har tid til at kigge på digtet da jeg er totalt "lost" i det, hvis jeg trækker det til eksamen.

Har prøvet at kigge på det og er kommet frem til følgende. og så ville jeg høre om der er nogle der vil give nogle gode råd. Da jeg skal til eksamen i morgen.
The poem town is about london (Notiing Hill) and the life in such a town.
In the first part are there many difference characters. You get the impression that their is lot of atmosphere in the town. Everybody have their own life. There is lot of activities.
The people are anonymous, they have no identity.
Practise. Someone is buisy and rich others are by the lower social classes 8prostituted, vagabonds etc.)
The town is a place with room for everybody, every kind of people, no matter occupation, background or social class.
In the second part , a individual focus on Mac. passiviness.
The last line "The heart of empire lies supine" symbolise. that the rich people we hear in the beginning who go to common, they are really not fighting for all kind of groups.
They forget that their also are people from the lower class, they only fight for their own interest.
So it means that thye not uses their heart to fight for better conditions. the heart is not used, and Mac is a symbol of that.
