På forhånd tak!!

Aunt Marie always wore black; she wore glasses and around her neck hang a goldneckless with an old-fashioned locket; a wig crowned her aristocratic head. Aunt did seldom take part in the prayers; instead she paid a visit to our monkey, which had its cage in the living room.
For half an hour she could stand in front of the cage and observe it. Every the monkey dropped, maybe to show its friendship, a brick out of the cage, and the old lady bent down to pick it up and put it back.
I remember a morning, were aunt as usually were missing during the prayers. We all lay on our knees and aunt Florence read with gentle and humiliate voice about “peace in our time”. Suddenly we heard a scream, so load that it got aunt Florence to break of in the middle of a sentence. There was a moment of quietness, then the grandmother said:” Florence, you better come with me; we have to see what has happened.

Specielt denne sætning er lidt kryptisk: Vi andre rejste os og børstede støvet af vores knæ.
The rest of us got up and brushed the dust of our knees.
Later on we experienced what has happened. When the monkey had dropped the brick aunt Marie had as usually bended down to pick it up. Suddenly the monkey had stuck its arm between the bars, and in a moment the aristocratic lady was changed into an old ordinary woman: the monkey had swallowed the wig, the neck less, the locket and the glasses.

gold necklace ikke goldneckless

Aunt Marie tror ikke man bare kan skrive Aunt

Every the monkey dropped? skal der stå everything?

er det noget som du selv har skrevet, eller er det en oversættelse?
