25th Anniversary
Dear Morten Olsen
May I first say what a pleasure it is to be here in attendance at the 25th Anniversary Conference of you, Morten Olsen.
As you may well know, Morton Olsen has now worked for the company for 25 years. He started at Plastic An’ Tastic the fourth of December 2004. He has been with Michael, Nille, Jeanette and I from the start when we established the company Plastic An’ Tastic.
In the beginning your function in the firm was to vacuum and clean toilets, then you created promotional brochure, later you serve coffee to the entire staff of manager’s and finally you became the director of marketing. All these different jobs you have had in the company have now helped you to be an almost perfect director.
Both in crisis and good times Mr.Olsen, has been a trusted and loyal employee to me. He is a very hard-working man but sometimes, it can also be too much. I remember a special episode were he became to hard working.
It was about 20 years ago. We had just received the biggest order ever. We should deliver one million “anti pop straw” to a Chinese company. All the employees were eager to produce the straws to the agreed time, because I had promised all a bonus if the trade went though. We had produced 980.000 straws and there was one day left. Suddenly Morten fliers into my office. He says: “that the machine witch packs the straw into plastic pose had stopped working”. I called the engineers but they could not repair the machine. That evening we organize a meeting for all the top managers. Jeanette, Michael, Nille and I were there. Morten should be there to but he was a little late. We brought up different suggestions about how to solve this problem with the machine. Suddenly the door opens and into the room enters Morten and his family. We look at him and ask why he had taken his family with. He said that his family (wife and four kinds) had decided to spend the whole night on the factory and pack all 20.000 straws in to plastic poses. It was a fine thought but w didn’t let him and his family do it. To days later the machine just worked again. The order was delivered to days late but everyone got there bonus anyway, because of Morten.
The funniest thing about Morten is all his, I will call them abnormal habits. He wakes up every morning at 4 pm. and runs around the house five times then he goes to bed again and sleeps further. He says: “that it is to get into a good form and that is the best way to do it.” Another is that Morton NEVER has light on his office. He wants it to be a little dark. When I ask him why he doesn’t turn the light on he answers the he one hoops to the monster of Darkness.
It cant be to any discussion the I and the other staff member are happy to have you at Plastic An’ Tastic. So Morten I want to thank you for your 25 in the company and hope to have you another 25 years.
Let us all stand up and call for three cheers for Morten Olsen. Hip Hip Hurrah
