The case about the double murder, on Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, is called the longest lasting trial in the USA for the century. The medias interest in the case did not concern the victims as much as the prosecuted, O.J. Simpson, the best football player throughout the time and the entire nations sports hero. The case contains all the ingredients of what some would call the American dream, while others would call it the pseudo-event of the century in the US.
The black O.J. Simpson is the soul of the American dream: He came from the worst slum district of the big city; he was delicate as child but fought himself out of the temptations of the ghetto and the criminality, got famous as running back and became a multi millionaire and all the American boys’ idol. Then he married the white, divinely beautiful Nicole Brown. They were married for 17 years and together they got two children. But something must have happened between them, because the 12 of July 1994 some neighbors find Nicole and her friend, whom everybody loves, brutality murdered outside her villa in Los Angeles.
O.J. Simpson became quickly the head suspicious and a larger human hunt was started. Some journalists spotted him, and from their helicopter they tracked down his white car on a five hours drive into LA. Outside his villa he gets arrested. Subsequently came a longer trial were Simpson gets acquitted. But in 1991 he gets judge in a civil trial.
