HJÆLP HASTER!!!!!! ENGELSK STIL - SIMPLE LIVING
SVAR AFVENTER :)))
Tak på forhånd!

Simple Living – paper
1) The texts 1, 2 and 3 each presents different people telling their view on the ’Simple Living’ concept.
The Simple Living concept is presented in text 1. 'Simple Living' is based on living in a simple way, that being said, the goal is to get rid of all the extra things that you think you need but don't. Other than just getting rid of the 'extra stuff' it's also about exercising the creativity of your mind and understanding who you really are, and spending some more quality time with the family. That being said, many people choose Simple Living because of various reasons, some choose it to relieve stress or it having personal-growth benefits. Others choose it to save money, and thereby also get to spend more quality-time with their family. However, the primary reason that people choose Simple Living is to save money, which have become a very important part of people’s lives, hereby the attitude that people are having to Simple Living is positive, as it will save them money and they’ll have a life which isn’t filled with a lot of stuff that they don’t really don’t.
The interviewed person in text 2 also has a positive attitude to ‘Simple Living’. The person being interviewed is a Jew and therefore does not celebrate Christmas, yet, she bought a lot of gifts at Christmas time, and ‘Simple Living’ made her realize that. Since then she also realized that she was tired of shopping, and that consumption, although it can be upholding for a lot of people, it can also be harmful to the world. In text 2 ‘Simple Living’ has also been accepted, welcomed, used and lighted up people’s minds, as it has a spiritual and personal reward…
Text 3, however takes the discussion to a new level. It turns down the fact that the Simple Living concept actually will change things worldwide; it won’t change the fact that people have a lack of water, for instance. The attitude presented in text 3 is not turning Simple Living down, it’s just saying that living simply by cutting down your driving time/distance or not having kids won’t change things socially or politically. It’s your choice whether you want to do it or not, and there are alternatives such as instead of navigating systems with integrity you can confront the systems, different examples are used, the above mentioned is one of them.
The way the written interview reflect the spoken interview conducted by the journalist is with i.e. using brackets to express actions happening throughout the interview:
[Laughs.] – ref. pp. 2 (text 2) – line 34
[…] – ref. pp. 1 (text 2) – line 26.
Another way is by using ‘–‘ and the semicolons ‘;’ (seen more than once in the text).
Using the above examples there is no doubt that the interview was spoken and then written, as such symbols would not appear in an originally written interview.
The person – Derrick Jensen – who has written text 3 states that Simple Living won’t solve problems in life around people. Yes, you can choose Simple Living, but it is not going to affect your circumstances. Your circumstances conditions will not change because of you not using a lot of water when showering or cutting down the distance of your car rides. People living using the Western lifestyle have a good and relaxed life and are not damaging their circumstances in any way – however the Simple Living concept seems to have changed those who have used to live using it in a spiritual way, it has made them realize what life really is all about, according to the interviewed person in text 2, and text 1 as well.
If we all were to live using the Simple Living concept, we might have enjoyed time with the family and gotten more time to understand ourselves, however, we would have missed out on a lot of the things in life that can also be enjoyed, even by bigger amounts, for instance, taking longer showers or not taking the long rides simply because you feel like it. Simple Living is a good concept, but considering that the water that an average person uses to shower is from the agriculture, 90 % of the water we use to take a shower is from agriculture while the remaining 10 % is split between municipalities and living breathing humans as individuals, in my opinion, it’s simply not worth it. It’s not worth it changing your entire lifestyle because you think, that it can help people in Africa, that you’re not using as much water to shower as you were before, or that taking shorter rides will help the nature a lot, it won’t. It will help by a little, and you’re, by doing that, restricting yourself simply because you think you’re changing the circumstances around you, what you’re really changing is yourself, and unless you’re looking to relax yourself spiritually and just understand life and spend more time with the family, alongside being willing to give up on some things that you wouldn’t usually give up on, then go ahead and choose the Simple Living concept.
But if it’s just to spend some more time with the family, then that can be done without the Simple Living concept. You don’t have to live simply to enjoy some quality time with the family. Put your work first priority and your family second, if possible swap them, and put your family first. Where there is will, there is way. If you want to spend some more time with your family, you can do it. No Simple Living concept is needed to do so, you can live your normal life, and spend time with your family, without restricting yourself to a new lifestyle, unless you actually want to do so. It’s your choice, and you should really think about it before you choose.
