Tuesday 27th September
Dear diary today was a day full of suspense and stress. First my father and I started with taking the car to the airport in Billund. A drive full of expectant conversations, about our coming trip to London. After checking in and a short visit around the small shops, we were finally on the plane at 07.30 pm. We were both extremely tired and quickly fell asleep. It was the touchdown that actually went smoothly, that woke the both of us.
At around 10.30 pm we arrived in the stunning London. We found a cab quickly, which drove us to our hotel. We had booked two rooms at the Park Lane Mews Hotel, a hotel in the middle of the street called Park Lane, which is in the central London. After we left our luggage, we went for a walk strolling down Oxford Street. Oxford Street is a major thoroughfare in the City of Westminster in the West End of London. It’s Europe's busiest shopping street, as well as its most dense, and currently has approximately 300 shops. After I dragged my father several times through the many shops at Oxford Street, he decided to go back to the hotel and sleep. It suited me fine going around and exploring on my own. Later we met up again and decided, were we could get something for dinner. We found a nice French restaurant near Park Lane Street. And I swear to God, I’ve never tasted something identical to that meal! After we eat, we went up to our rooms. All in all it was a good day, full of experiences and learning. The weather was also extremely warm and nice. Enough for today I’m so tired and I’m going to bed now. Sweet dreams!
Wednesday 28th September
Dear diary today we started out with going to the fair called IAAPA. IAAPA stands for The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. IAAPA is the largest international trade association for permanently situated amusement facilities worldwide. My father works with attractions and for that reason we were invited to the fair. After spending almost three hours walking around looking at attractions and talk to dozens of people, I asked my father if it was fine with him that I would leave him and went on my own again. Luckily it was totally fine, - he continued at the fair and I on my own. Quickly I found a cab, which drove me to the Tower of London. William the Conqueror built the Tower of London at the beginning of the 11th century. The Tower's most popular attraction is its famous collection of Crown Jewels. Furthermore has a lots of celebrities from the English history been imprisoned in the Tower of London. I wanted to go to the Tower of London, since I read the books from Philippa Gregory. She writes about the English list of kings, and the Tower of London is mentioned a lot and plays a prominent and major role in her books. After I saw the Tower of London, I decided to make sure that I hadn’t forgotten some shops yesterday so I kept shopping and strolling down Oxford Street. In the he evening my father and I met up again and chose the same nice French restaurant. Right know I’m watching the British news, while I’m eating scones! I can’t wait for another day in London! Hugs and kisses Jacqueline!
Thursday 29th September
Dear diary today was unfortunately the last day in London. We spent the morning with a bus tour around London’s most famous attractions. The bus tour lasted two hours in the burning sun! We saw everything from Birmingham Palace to Big Ben. After the bus tour we walked to Harrods to get something to eat. Harrods is an upmarket department store located in Brompton Road. We found a lovely and very English restaurant called The Georgian Restaurant on the fifth floor. I really think the Georgian Restaurant is as much of an institution as the store itself. They served the most delicious cupcakes and other beautiful and tasty cakes. After we eat, we found a cab, which drove us to the airport. After two hours in the plane and a drive to Århus I’m finally home. All in all it was a wonderful trip I had with my father. I swear to God, I have never been that astionished by a city as London. It’s definitely not the last time I visit London and its wonderful charm and atmosphere. Hugs and kisses Jacqueline!
På forhånd tak
