Dear Robinsons,                                                                                                                        12/17-2012

My name is Peter, I am a boy, 14 years old, and I live with my family in Denmark.
I am coming to New York to be educated as a doctor, as we don’t have all the resources here in Denmark where I live.
I live with my dad – Pete, mom Katherine and my little sister Kate – we are the Johnson family. My dad is at the age of 45, my mom is 37, and my little sister is 5 years old, almost 6. We live in the city Copenhagen, which is one of the biggest cities of the island Zealand. As of right now, I go at a school called Freds Skolen.
The main reason that makes me want to travel to the US is that I want an education – an education as a doctor who can travel worldwide and help people in need. Another reason – is that I really want to explore the North-American continent, which I have never seen before – just heard or read about. And at some point, it becomes quite interesting, and you just really want to see it. I also want to see how the Americans live, their lifestyle, their culture, but also the effect that the attack on 9/11 have had on them.
As of right now, I am a ninth-grader – and when I graduate, I will stay in high school – but move to the US, and so I will be a sophomore, and get an – almost – fresh start to my education in the US. I will come right after my graduation – hopefully. After the graduation – I’ve still got some time until I start my sophomore year, and so I want to see all those exciting sights that you’ve got in New York. There are very exciting tourist attractions in New York City, like the Queen of Liberty or the Empire State Building. I also really want to see the place where World Trade Center used to be before the attack, as it’s a memorial place for the Americans... Wall Street is also a place that I want to see, as it is very popular, and as it’s the UN’s headquarter. But other than that, I also want to spend some of my spare-time with you, and see how the American culture and lifestyle is like, other than just seeing it on the street – but also living it, which means, that I won’t just come to NYC to get educated but also to see how it’s like to be an American person, and know about the so-called “American Dream”.
