Nogle der vil være så søde at rette min engelsk stil?
Vores engelsk lærer gav os besked på at skrive en stil om nogle vi "beundrede", men hvori vi ikke måtte skrive personens navn.
Somebody you admire
The person I admire was born October 22, 1949 in Strasbourg, Alsace. He is a French football manager who is currently managing Arsenal, where he has become the clubs most successful manager, in terms of trophies and the longest running manager, in terms of matches played, which is over 550.
He is also the first foreign manager to win The Double in England twice, in 1998 and 2002. On top of that, he also set an astounding record in 2004, going unbeaten in The Barclays Premiership for an entire season.
He joined Arsenal in 1996 as a relative unknown manager in England, where he has now been for over a decade.
Over the years he has build the reputation as a fine talent scout and developer of young players’ skills. In his time at Arsenal, he has signed young, relative unknown players such as Patrick Viera, Thierry Henry, Francesc Fabregas, Kolo Touré and so on. All of these players he signed for almost no money at all.
With Arsenal’s success, the legendary home ground, Highbury with a capacity of 40.000, became too small as the number of fans kept growing.
Construction of the new stadium began in February 2004, and was named The Emirates Stadium, located only a few miles from Highbury. This stadium can hold up to 60.000 fans, being one the largest in Britain.
The new stadium hosted its first match in July 2006, and is now playing its first Premiership season.
This wouldn’t be possible without the manager. He took over Arsenal when they were down and lifted them up to glory. This I am ever so thankful for.
I consider him the best manager to have ever graced the Premiership, and maybe even the world. That is why I admire this man so much.
