ret for fejl,
mange tak.
In the short story “Sand” by Susan Hill, we are introduced to a unsympathetic mother who dictate her children. The consequence of this unconventional behaviour towards her children are extensive. After the mother’s death the children evoke memories, from their childhood. and the memories which start to arise, jog their memory of their fear of her. They recall how egocentric and cold hearted she was and how unwilling she was to make herself uncomfortable for their sake. Because of her death, questions they never have the courage to ask the mother are left instated. Nevertheless, even if the mother was existing, they would be so terrified by her, and might not even ask her . Their only optimistic recollection of their mother, was when they one day passed a crying child, and the mother surprisingly helped him. She cleaned his eyes from sand, with a handkerchief which she was fond of. This episode with the crying child, made the children very unpleasant and a bit timid. Afterwards the children are hypothesizing whether this episode with the child will change their mother, but to the children’s big displeasure the mother was still cold hearted. The children had only one positive memory, of the mother as a human being and unfortunately this remained throughout their life.

In the short story “Sand” by Susan Hill, we are introduced to a unsympathetic mother who dictate her children's life. The consequence of this unconventional behaviour towards her children are extensive. After the mother’s death the children evoke memories, from their childhood. The memories which start to arise, jog their memory of their fear of her. (måske heller: the memories which start to arise, makes them remenber their fear for her )They recall how egocentric and cold hearted she was and how unwilling she was to make herself uncomfortable(uncomfortable= mener du mon ikke: how unwilling she was to make sacrefieses for their sake) for their sake. Because of her death, questions they never have the courage to ask the mother are left unsaid (det andet betyder indsat!). Nevertheless, even if the mother was still alive (lyder bedre), they Could be so terrified by her, that they may not even ask her .
