Abstract
This study tests Kepler’s laws of planetary motion and the escape speed, which is the minimum speed required to escape from a planet's gravitational pull. First Kepler’s laws, Newton’s Universal Law of Gravitation and the mathematical ellipse are presented. Secondly the study shows how it creates a simulation of the Earth’s elliptical orbit around the Sun and a simulation of a comet flying in a hyperbolic orbit pas the Sun, and tests Kepler’s laws on them. In the end it calculates the escape speed using integrals and then checks the escape speed with a simulation. The study also comments some of the up- and downsides of simulations. It concludes that Kepler’s laws are useable on the ellipse but not on the hyperbola.

Jeg skal til at skrive abstract i mat/fys og jeg er virkelig på røven med hvordan man oversætter fagudtryk. Har du nogle tips?
