For tre år siden fik en familie I Californien at vide, at deres 16-årige datter, Anissa, havde leukæmi. Prognosen var, at hun ville dø inden fem år, medmindre man fandt en donor med samme vævstype og foretog en benmarvs transplation. Familien herunder en bror på 19 blev undersøgt men ingen havde samme vævstype. På de baggrund besluttede Anissas forældre at forsøge at få et barn til. Det blev født for 2 år siden - en lillesøster- og forleden fortog lægerne så den transplation, som giver Anissa 75pct. Chance for at blive helbredt.

The forecast was that she would die within five years, unless they found a donor with the same tissue type and made a bone-marrow transplant. The family – including a brother of 19 was checked- but none of them had the same tissue type. Against this (or that) background Anissas parents decided they would try to get another child. It was borne two-years ago- a little sister- and the other day the doctor’s made that transplant, which gives Anissa 75 per cent chance for surviving.

hvis det er en hjælp , sidder på arbejde og har ingen mulighed for at tjekke det , så det er bare pr intuition ?
