Potatoes in car tires, salad and cabbage on the roof, fish in clean waste water-this is some of the imaginative projects that people in the third world overcrowded large cities survives on.
But with the stream of people from the country to the city are food provisions become the biggest problem for the large cities. Between 60 and 90 pct of peoples incomes normally goes to food, so all that can be saved from being self-sufficiency are earned.
In China all cities are self-sufficient with vegetables. For customers, vegetables from large cities have the advantage that they are fresh.
Although there could be pollution problems with the products, if you haven’t cleaned the waste water which are used for watering sufficiently.
