Hej er der ikke nogen der vil være søde og se om mit engelske referat har nogle fejl, og hvis I finder nogen (der er sikkert mange!!), kan I så ikke rette dem?.. Knuser
Murphy is from Northern Ireland, he is catholic, but now he lives in England, and he is married to a non-Catholic girl I England. This particular morning where the story takes place begins like all the other mornings. Felicity his wife leaves for work, she has a morning shift, and Murphy has night shift. Murphy has just finished his breakfast and he is in his bed when two men arrive to the house. One of the them is Murphy’s brother and the other is a commanding officer from IRA. After making their entrance the men tries to persuade Murphy to return to the catholic environment and help IRA. Murphy won’t be a part of the IRA and he won’t let Felicity down. He really loves her and the child she is pregnant with.
The Men tell Murphy that his sister Cathy is dead and that she has lost her life in her attempt to help IRA, she was trying to place a bomb. Murphy is asked to come to her funeral, even though Murphy wants go, he says no, because he knows that give trouble. He will not get back to the catholic environment, and he can’t afford to loose his pay from job. Murphy denies helping IRA, and before the men leave the house, they tell him that they will give him time to think it over.
Murphy sits in his room, he is shocked.
Then there is another knock on the door, and two men from the Special Branch enter the room. The men want Murphy to be a spy for them. They want him to join the IRA and then give information about them to the Special Branch. They would offer him a little salary too. Murphy doesn’t get a chance to choose, because the men tell him that they will kill him, and arrest his brothers. Before leaving they tell him that they will be back for an answer.
Again Murphy sit like stunned, he is shocked.
