ville være super hvis det var en der gad rette denne engelske tekst ( er ikke helt sikker på det hele er rigtigt ) :
The family we hear about consist of Frank Randall (the father), the mother and four sons: Michael, Eddy, Mark and Nicky. Graham Swift is the author and he lets Mark be the narrator of the story. The family lives in the country. They live wholly for their work at the farm, and the father actually thinks of the sons as a good investment for the further development on the farm. The mother had always wanted a girl, and when she got pregnant with Nicky she really hoped that it wound turn out to be a girl. But Nicky was a boy. Even though Nicky was a boy, the mother loved him, and when he crashed on his Yamaha and damaged his head incurably, the mother made the hard decision to give away Nicky’s heart and let him die in peace.
The time when the family has to decide whether Nicky’s heart should be donated or not is rather interesting. It turns out to be the mother who has the overview to decide what’s best to be done in that very hard situation. One get the impression that on the farm it’s the father who’s in command. But when it comes to extremely hard situations, the mother takes over and shows that she actually has what it takes to overcome the emotional staggering that comes with such a decision.
