The stone boy, rettelse

The extract from “The Stone Boy” is about a nine years old boy, Arnold, who accidentally kills his older brother, Eugene, with an old rifle. They go out in the morning to pick peas and Arnold takes his rifle with him, thus he might shoot any ducks that are presented in the vicinity. While he climb through a wire hence, Arnold’s rifle gets caught and a fatal shoot triggers off and hits his brother in front of him. Arnold examines the corpse of his dead brother but he gathers the peas after all. At home his parents wonder where two brothers stay and they can’t believe what Arnold tells them before they see the dead body themselves. The parents bring Arnold to the courthouse to visit the sheriff. He interrogates the boy and comes to the conclusion that there should be no case against the boy because it sincerely was an accident. Nevertheless the sheriff adds that Arnold must be a moron or very pragmatic to simply complete the picking-task before returning home. Arnold: “It’s better to pick peas while they’re cool.” After this his mother can’t stand the sight of Arnold and they say no word at supper. In the night Arnold wants to sit by his mother and become consoled. But she rejects him and the next morning she asks what he wanted and he replies:”I didn’t want nothing”. He is scared by his own answer.

They go out in the morning to pick peas and Arnold takes his rifle with him, thus he might shoot any ducks that are presented in the vicinity. While he (climbs) through a wire hence, Arnold’s rifle gets (stuck) and a fatal shoot triggers off and hits his brother (standing) in front of him. Arnold examines the corpse of his dead brother but he gathers the peas after all. At home his parents wonder where two brothers stay and they can’t believe what Arnold tells them before they (have seen) the dead body themselves. The parents bring Arnold to the courthouse to visit the sheriff. He interrogates the boy and comes to the conclusion that there should be no case against the boy because it (apparently) was an accident. Nevertheless the sheriff adds that Arnold must be a moron or very pragmatic to simply complete the picking-task before returning home. Arnold: “It’s better to pick peas while they’re cool.” After this his mother can’t stand the sight of Arnold and they say no word (to each other) at supper. In the night Arnold wants to sit by his mother and become consoled. But she rejects him and the next morning she asks what he wanted and he replies:” I didn’t want nothing”. He is scared by his own answer.

Thus he might shoot some ducks which are present in the vicinety.

I den sætning er det any -> some, that -> which og så skal det der presented rettes til present for eller vil du skrive noget om udstillet

While climbing

Brug i stedet however

Jeg gør mit bedste :)

The extract from “The Stone Boy” is about a nine years (fejl - ved ikke hvad typen hedder) old boy, Arnold, who accidentally kills his older brother, Eugene, with an old rifle. They go out in the morning to pick peas and Arnold takes his rifle with him, thus (ordvalg) he might shoot any ducks that are presented in the vicinity. While he climb (tal) through a wire hence, Arnold’s rifle gets caught (ordvalg) and a fatal shoot (forkert ordklasse) triggers off and hits his brother in front of him. Arnold examines the corpse of his dead brother but he gathers the peas after all (ordvalg, ville nok sige noget med, but he still gathers...). At home his parents wonder where two brothers stay (der sker vistnok noget mærkeligt her, hvis du mener at de undrer sig over hvor de er, så: wonder where the two brothers are) and they can’t believe what Arnold tells them before they see the dead body (manglende ord her) themselves. The parents bring Arnold to the courthouse to visit the sheriff. He interrogates the boy and comes to the conclusion that there should be no case against the boy because it sincerely (ville nok bruge andet ord, men kan godt bruges) was an accident. Nevertheless the sheriff adds that Arnold must be a moron or very pragmatic to simply complete (når man siger to simply complete something, menes der mere "at bare/simpelthen fuldføre noget". Ville nok sige actually/still complete) the picking-task before returning home. Arnold: “It’s better to pick peas while they’re cool.” After this his mother can’t stand the sight of Arnold and they say no word at supper (don't say a word, ville jeg nok sige). In the night Arnold wants to sit by his mother and become consoled. But she rejects him and the next morning she asks what he wanted and he replies:”I didn’t want nothing”. He is scared by his own answer.

Jeg har sikkert overset nogle ting, men tog forhåbentligt fat på det vigtigste :)
