Nordirland. Forhandlingerne om at genoplive det nordiske selvstyre er endt med et aftaleudkast.
Aftalen skal godkendes af partierne i Nordirland inden 10. november. Bliver den ikke det, truer briterne med at opløse parlamentet og endeligt styre Nordirland fra London. Bliver paterne derimod enige, skal en ny lokal regering styre Nordirland fra 26. marts 2007.
Den britiske premierminister, Tony Blair, og hans irske kollega, Bertie Ahern, nåede til enighed efter tre dages forhandlinger i St. Andrews i Skotland, hvor Blair og Ahern har været værter for tre dages drøftelser mellem ledere fra begge sider af den delte provins, Ulster. Republikanerne ønsker, at Ulster skal være en del af Irland, mens unionisterne fortsat ønsker en union med Storbritannien.
Ifølge Tony Blair er de vigtigste punkter i aftalen, at partierne når en klar aftale om magtdeling, og at de accepterer den opdeling i retsinstanser, som er fremlagt i forslaget.
”Vi har været igennem forskellige dele af processen utallige gange de seneste år, men jeg tror, der nu er lagt et sundt grundlag til at komme videre”, siger Tony Blair ifølge AP.

Northern Ireland. The negotiations regarding the revival of the northern Irish home rule are ended up with an agreement draft.
The agreement has to approval of the parties in Northern Ireland before 10th november. Did it not stay, threaten the British that dissolve the parliament and final (last) rule Northern Ireland from 26th March 2007.
The British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and his Irish colleague, Bertie Ahern, came to agreement after three days negotiations in St. Andrews in Scotland, where Blair and Ahern have been hostess for three days discussions between the leaders from both sides of the divided province, Ulster. The Republican wishes that Ulster have to be a part of Ireland, whereas the unions’ continuing wishes one union with Great Britain.
According to Tony Blair are the most important points in the agreement that the parties come to a clear about the division of power and that they accept the division in court, who are displayed in the proposal.
“We have been through different parts of the process time and time again at the latest years, but I belief, there now is put a healthy basis to move on”, says Tony Blair according to AP.
