En sød sjæl? - Rettelse...

When all’s said and done Raglan seems very kind and protecting of Jeremy. It’s like he sees himself as the father of the little boy. He is helping him getting clean of the drugs, which Jeremy strongly was addicted to before it meet Raglan. The dad model we are introduced in the shape of Raglan comes also to expression when they find a dead baby in a dumpster. Raglan tries to protect Jeremy from the reality by holding the boy back and telling him not to look at it. The climax of the story takes place in this event. It starts a big discussion between the two characters about weather they should bury it or leave it in the garbage. Jeremy is really upset and doesn’t understand why anyone could do such a bad thing. But by Raglan’s calm reaction it seems to be a normal thing in their area. It’s something he probably has experienced himself. Raglan doesn’t care about the dead baby like Jeremy does. Jeremy reacts like the child he is and wants to know what will happen to the baby. When Raglan answers that they will burn or bury it with the rest of the garbage, Jeremy screams no and clamped his hands to his ears because his doesn’t wants to hear it. For Jeremy’s sake Raglan agree to drive out on the country and bury the body. It seems like Raglan’s long life in the street has hardened him and he knows bad things sometimes will happen, while Jeremy because of the child he is, still believes in the good things in people. By accepting Jeremy’s childishness and his believing in the good, Raglan agrees to do the right thing even after his own childishness is gone.
