hejsa. er der nogen der gider læse den igennem for fejl. jeg ved godt den er lidt lang, men jeg har brug for hjælp.

The family is on vacation in Thailand to visit their daughter who is working there as an English teacher. The story takes place in Thailand where the father is very nervous and confuse, but he tries to hide his fright ness for his wife, who is very scared too. The family got lost in a city in Thailand. The place they got lost in is very confusing and, no one didn’t even spoke English, and this makes them very scary, even though Suzanne, the daughter tries to relax them. The story takes place in only one place, the road. In this line it shows us how scared the mum, Eileen is: page 2, line, 30 “Suzanne strode towards the corrugated-iron huts. “where are you going?” Eileen asked quickly” and Suzanne who isn’t as scared as her Mum choose to answer simply and relaxing page 2 line 32” where d’ you think? Chill out Mum”
A few moments later four men turned up and begang to spoke with the family. The man was a native and he sounded like a druken man. Here we see the difference between the culture and everything is new for the family, the people, the enviroment, and new experiences. Suzanne spoked Thai with him, but he answered in english. The thai mann was a english teacher from the Eastern Thailand. The man was not alone, he was with three other guys and this was a threat to alex who felt a little alone with two women, that he has to protect from 4 guys. This wasnt easy for Alex and it maked him a little nerveours abouth the thought that he was the only man in his family. Page 3 line 71” Alex was aware again of his heart thumping. There were four of them, and only himself, with his wife and daughter...”
Suzanne is very interested in a country where everything are so different than she used to in her culture. And we see tat in many times in the story. Suzanne is a litltle different than her parents. She is afraid for the strangers and she takes everything so calm. And it seemd to that she likes to meet new people. And she is a open-minded person.
“They’re nice people, Dad (…) everything’s going to be alright”. (Line. 127-128).
The thought of how beutiful Thailand is, is gone for the mother and the fatherbegative thougts about the country and they only see negative things. Eileen is a nervours mother during the whole trip, she is so scared for the four men who only wanted to help the family. Suddenly the father began to think about Eileens chilhood when she was at her daughters age, and when she took LSD. And maked him a little afraid when he thought about that. And this is a picture of what young people could think of doing at that age. They are testing their limits which can results to bad things or good thngs in their life. And they dont even thinks about the consequence. Alex began to be nervours again after he got a beer from the men. He thought that they would do something wrong to them, and he had this responsiblitie that he was so afriad of.
“There had been a role reversal here” (Line 39) The roles has changed. The father is mlike a little child. And he is suddenly losing his roles. Suzanne who is not so afriad like her father is, is very calm. And dosnt show any reaction of bneing afraid. She tries to comfort her father. And therefore she suddenly have the role as being a father to both of her parent. And this makes the father a little sad and confusing. How can a little child take over the responsibelitie?
The thai mann told them that there will come a car right away to pick them up, and drive them home again. But the father didnt seem to like to be with the men any ore. He thinks that they shall go on before it gets dark. The daughter tries to relax them al, and tells them taht this are really nice people. As soon they began to drive, the father suddently had a new picture of the country. It was a bit beutifull than before. He saw green grass and other beutifull things that maked him smile. Page 5 line 154”.. Alex felt he had never seen anything so beautiful...” it wass all about trustin the people in the country and have new experience that you shouldnt be afraid of. Suzanne was very calm and brave.
The poem “follower” are written by Seamus Heaney. The poem shows us a example of a role-reversal, just like the story”eating sugar” in the poem it says that the father is normally the leader in a family, and his children will look up to their father and follow his road. And when the child gets olderthe roles 3will change and the father will now follow the child, but it dosnt happen in “eating sugar” because the father didnt seem to accept that his daughter will be the leader for him. The tex “trust between culture” : the tourist. Is about when two cultures meets each other and how they are looking upon each other. There are a lot of difference between “us” and “them” like it says in the text, like when Eileen and Alex are in Thainland. They are acting very afarid and nervours because of the strangers, and that is bacause they look so different, then they used to and that is why the theme in the story is culture.
2)
the language English is a very famous and important language for all the people around the world. Most of the country do speak english as a sewcond language, and there some places where they only speaks france as a second language. But mostly are able to speak just a little bit with some helping word, like in eating sugar, when the thai tried to help the americans. They couldnt speak as well as the americans, but they were able to start a dialoge between them.

Who is working as an English teacher?
The story took place.
Where the father is very nervous and confused,
frightness.
The family got lost in the city of Thailand.
And no one spoke English at all.
It made them very scared.
Even though Suzanne, their daughter tried to relax them.

The story took place only in one place, on road.

In this line it shows us how scared mum was, Eileen is: on page 2, line, 30 “Suzanne strode towards the corrugated-iron huts. “Where are you going?” Eileen asked quickly” and Suzanne who wasn't as scared as her Mum choose to answer simply and relaxing. On page 2 line 32” where did you think? Chill out Mum”

Few moment later four men turned up and begun speaking with the family. The man was native and he sounded like he had drunken.

Differences between the culture(s) new things are seen by the family; they have a good surrounded environment, and have enjoyed many experiences.

Suzanne spoke Thai with him.

The Thai man was an English teacher from Eastern Thailand.

That he has to be protected from 4 guys.

This wasn’t easy for Alex and it (made) him a little nervous about the thoughts that he was the only man in his family.
