Dear Mr. Bush I hope these facts has helped you realize the problem. You may think that this elimination of the death penalty will result in a higher percent of criminality but we don’t think so. Because when a murder case shows up, the murder will still get a lifetime in jail. A lifetime with almost no free time, you can’t go alone and do what you want. That should frighten most criminals, and in the meantime innocent people won’t get killed by the state. Of cause this doesn’t mean that innocent people won’t get judged for something they haven’t done, nevertheless they will still have a lot time to convince other people that the judgment were wrong. The state will save a lot of money on this, actually they will save a median cost of 52000$ for each criminal judged person who goes to normal jail instead of going on death row, and these money can be used to many other things like global warming or hospitals. If we take a look at the possibilities of execution on the death penalty around the world and how it used to be in the old days it’s very brutal. Since 1975 2 countries has used firing squad as an opportunity, 3 countries has used hanging, 11 has used gas chambers, 154 has used electrocution and 929 has used lethal injection since 1975. These methods are very inhuman and even if the lethal injection is the most human way to do it, the state is still killing another human. There’s no doubt that these murders has done the same cruel thing, but by giving them lifetime in a normal jail they will still be off the streets and get what they deserve. If the capital punishment get’s abolished it will most likely result in stuffed prisons and with the earnings of this abolishment as I said before, than we can use the money to a new better prison.
Dear George Bush I hope you have realized how stupid and inhuman the capital punishment is. And by going against the death penalty we can still get additional benefits like saving the planet and making the world better. Every human being has the right to live no matter who it is.
