The excert is about Henry who is a psychiatrist and one of his patients: Barry Newman. Barry is very overweight, more specific he is fat. Barry's sessions tend to be long and monotonous. Barry only discuss food in its specific with Henry. Barry's obesity is threathening his helath, but he does not believe that it will result in a premature death for him. In the end of their session, Henry tries to dive into what Barry has blocked out of his mind: his mothers death, which Barry has never allowed Henry to talk about. Henry pushed it, and Barry got very upset and ran out of the consulting room. After this, Henry has a conversation with himself, discussing whether the session was wrong and about telling the truth.
