Brick Lane
The movie Brick Lane is about a 33 years old Bangladeshi women, who leaves her beloved sister and

home, for an arranged marriage. Nanzeem got married to Chana who is 20 years older than her. They

moved to London in the neighborhood of Brick Lane. Unfortunately her first child died, but god blessed

her with two daughters, Shahane 16 years old and Bibi 10 years old.
After a couple of years Nanzeem gets homesick and wants to go back to Bangladesh. Her husband

Chana promised her that they will go back to Bangladesh, but they never did. One day her husband

came home with a computer, but Nanzeem didn't know how he got it. Nanzeem visited her neighbor and

she offered her a sewing machine, so she could work as a sewing lady. After a couple of days, the

woman who gave Nanzeem the sewing machine, wanted money from her. It was because Chana

borrowed money and didn't pay back, so Nanzeem had to pay back of the money that she earned, with interest.
Nanzeem kept writing letters to her sister in Bangladesh. The guy, who delivers the fabric, Karim, falls in

love with Nanzeem. They made love, and all that happened without somebody's clue. Karim tells

Nanzeem that she can get divorced with Chana, and marry him instead. But Nanzeem gave him a

rejection; she didn't want to get divorced with Chana because she realized that she really loved him.

Then the event on 11 September happened, and the society started to look down upon the Muslims.

Karim got interested in Islam and became really religious, and he never spoke to Nanzeem again.
Chana wanted to go back to Bangladesh, and get a job as a University teacher. He tried that in London,

but he didn't get the job, another reason why Chana wanted to back is that he couldn’t live in a country

where the British people look down upon him, and thought he was a terrorist.
Before he left, the family had an argument. The mom and Shahane didn't want to go back, so the father

decided to go back without them.
Nanzeem started to go out and played with her two daughters, she even took her scarf of, and she lived

her life more freely.
Nanzeem was left with her two daughters, in that little apartment on Brick Lane.
