Obama talks about many things he wants the U.S.A to do. He wants the USA to pull their troops out of Iraq slowly, so the land can build up itself. This is one of the places he thinks John McCain is wrong, because McCain wants to stay in Iraq.
Obama talks about all the trips McCain have taken to Iraq. Maybe he should have taken some trips to Michigan or Ohio instead? And study all the problems the U.S got instead of thinking about problems in other countries. The US have been hit hard on the economy, he do not think John McCain has understand the changing the American people are looking for. Obama himself wants to help the people who are working day and night and still can not afford the medicine to their sick sister. He wants the American to see, where their tax money is spent, so he wants to make a Health Insurance. He wants to make a health care plan for all Americans. Obama think that more of the tax money should go to school educations, and he wants to invest in early childhood education and recruit a whole army of new and better paid teachers. He thinks that the chance to get a college education should not only be a privilege for the wealthy people, but for every American. He wants to give the middle class a tax cut, they can not spend many billions more to make a wealthy nation. He wants to raise fuel standards and wanted the oil companies to invest in a clean energy future. This will create millions of new well paid jobs, as the USA needs. At last he wants to make the oil corporations to pay for their pollution.
He is against the death penalty, which already has killed 13 innocent people.
He thinks that the Americans are a decent, generous and compassionated people. He thinks that this people can make the country great again, so they in the future can tell their children that “this was the moment, when they began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless, the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal. This was the time—when they came together to remake this great nation”.
Obama is using many rhetorical crafts in this speech. He appeals to pathos, because he is trying to connect to peoples feelings. For example: he is telling us about those persons that work all night and day long and still do not get money enough for the medicine to their sick sister. We feel with these people, so we think: let us vote for Obama so he can introduce the Health Insurance and so the world can be a better place to live in. Some other effects he uses is that he unifies all the American people thin and fat, rich and poor to one unit, one nation and together they can make it better with teamwork. And one day they can tell proudly to their children, that they made the world a better place to stay.
He also repeats “So it was” for all the hard problems, which has been solved. In the end he says “and so it must be for us” this give hopes for all the people who can not afford the expensive medicine or the people that do not got a job.
