The history of the Kurds has for a long time been influenced of the war and suppression from the different countries where the Kurds have been living. The study wanted to describe the development of the Kurds until today, with importance to the Iraqi Kurds. The paper tells shortly about the four countries where the Kurds are living and there miserably conditions. Since the fall of Saddam Hussein the condition of the Kurds has been more safe and they are making a fresh start. The memory is remaining but the future is looking better than just for five years ago. The Kurds are very thankful to USA because they brought Saddam Hussein´s dictatorship down and are starting to build a democracy. The study are building from books, news papers, internet, but also from my own father and his family, who still lives in the northern part of Iraq.
