det minder mig om en, der ville have en stil om det gamle Egypten. "Den skal bare være på 8 sider", sagde hun.

The mind-body relationship
1. Introduce the subject by giving a brief account of the insight into the mind-body relationship outlined in the texts.
Many of us have experienced a faster heart rate, nervousness, and anxiety while watching a very exciting and frightening movie in the movie theater or in the comfort of our own homes. These physiological responses, caused simply by viewing the images on the screen and listening to the supporting dramatic music, illustrate the intricate nerve and hormonal linkages that exist between the mind and body.
In the article “A New Fertility Factor”, a new fertility institution focuses on giving women back their life, by different treatments – it called the Mind-body fertility program. The treatment has a good relationship to the mind-body which is expressed in their narrative of a 33-year old woman, Melissa. She and her husband have problems with fertility and she receives fertility injections.
The article claims that infertility is stressful and that distress can cause infertility - though it has not been proven, and that getting medical help, anxiety and depression can discourage (?).
On the other hand we have an article by Miller, “We all need a dose of the doctor”, which doesn’t refer to (positively) using medication.
“A Hungarian psychoanalyst Michael Balint recognized a half century ago,
that mystifying symptoms are not necessarily untreatable”.
The best medication is the doctor. The doctor shall treat the patients as friends and they will become motivated towards getting healthy again – without the help of drugs/medicine.
The article “How to think about the mind” discusses how the brain isn’t just some pocket for “managing information at the behest of a ghostly will” and also isn’t some “independent-part” – it is a part of the body. Neuroscience has proven, whatever happens to over body, it influences our brain or as said it “will literally change” our mind.
The mind speaks through the body. Symptoms are the way a body expresses itself.
A symptom could be a pain, or some dysfunction somewhere in the body. It could just be an uncomfortable feeling in a particular situation. “The body” is like an ageing playwright, who had transplanted his mind into a younger body and his is quite found with (Forstår ikke? Mener du fond = glad i stedet for found?) mind-body relationship. It gives him a feeling of pleasure, now that he has the possibility of doing what he couldn’t, when he was younger.

1. Comment on the language and the structure of one of the texts.
The article “A new fertility factor” by Domar was written in a low to middle class/type language in order to make us understand their message. Though they use some foreign expressions, like injected fertility, and don’t explain it further. Besides, the article does have some allegation about fertility without any documentation, like words from scientist among other things.
Concerning the structure of the text it is as following: We are first introduced to the main problem and then the solution. Melissa can’t get pregnant but, by giving up the alcohol and caffeine and getting the fertility injections, she gets pregnant. Then we are introduced to how easy it is to get pregnant and then about fertility and the consequences. It ends up with a proclamation of their program, which focuses on getting women’s life back.
2. Discuss some social and/or religious consequences of the modern mind-body relationship.
Seen from a religious perspective, the consequences of the development the modern mind-body relationship are enormous. It’s against God’s will, as human beings to create life with medication and to transplant a human brain. We are taking nature into our own hands.
Looking at it through conservative religious eyes, humans are created by a man and a woman and not by any biological medication. It is also wrong to transplant a human brain because it is the same as cannibalism; you are absorbing a part of another human into your body.
We are not allowed to play God. It is not a problem to give birth by injected fertility, but giving birth to babies by injected fertility and genetic manipulation is.
I have no doubt that in the future people are going to want to use the technology, genetic manipulation, for uses that goes beyond medicine, for uses that are cosmetic, for things like eye color and height. I don’t doubt that this technology is going to be used to provide people with these kinds of genetic choices in their children. Again we are playing God and I guess that the mind-body relationship is not preferred by any religious people, because there is only one God and it is certainly not us.

jeg tænkte på om du har rettet i min stil i stedet for??? for så kunne du jo bare sende den istedet for.. det ville være lidt nemmere ...fordi det tager lidt tid at skulle lede efter fejlene og sammenligne.
