Oversættelse, rettelse :)
Nogle kloge mennesker der kan rette min lille oversættelse her? :D
Two brothers, who always were in debt, were once at a party, where their amused themselves excellent, until the oldest, by looking out of the window, discovered a policeman who came walking towards the house. “Fred” he said to his brother, “that policeman is coming to arrest me. It would be way to awkward to be arrested here tonight. Will you go out there and let him take you, please? You can explane him his mistake in half an hour, then he will let you go.” This seemed quite obvious. Fred went out to the policeman, who bend polite and made apoligizes for having to arrest him. On the way to the policestation Fred said, he wanted to buy something in a store. He did not hope the police was in a hurry. “Not at all” the policeman answered.
When a half hour had gone by, Fred thought that they had been joked enough with, and said “You are a very clever guy, right? You think you have arrested mr. William Jones; but it is his brother, you have got a hold on.” “I’m not as dumb as you think” the policeman answered “it was you I was supposed to get, not your brother!” With these words he lead the surprised debtor to the station.

Hej. i oversættelse står der han bukkede høfligt? Vidste ikke hvordan det skulle bøjes?

I mangel på den danske tekst, er dette mit bud:
Two brothers, who (were) always /were/ in debt, were once at a party, where /their/(they) amused themselves excellent(ly)/, until/(till) the oldest, by looking out of the window, /discovered/(spotted) a policeman who /came/(was) walking towards the house.
“Fred” he said to his brother, “that policeman is coming to arrest me. It would be /way to/(far too) awkward /to be/(being) arrested here tonight. Will you go out there and let him take you, please?
You can /explane/(explain) him his mistake /in/(after) half an hour, then he will let you go.”
This seemed quite obvious. Fred went out to the policeman, who /bend/(bent) polite(ly) and made /apoligizes/(apologizes) for having (got) to arrest him.
On the way to the /policestation/(police station) Fred said/,/ he wanted to buy something in a /store/(shop).
He did not hope the police was in a hurry. “Not at all” the policeman answered.
When /a/ half (an) hour had gone by, Fred thought that they had been /joked/(joking) enough /with,/ and said “You are a very clever guy, right?
You think you have arrested /mr./(Mr) William Jones; but /it is/(it’s) his brother/,/ you have got a hold /on/(of).”
“I’m not as dumb as you think” the policeman answered “it was you I was supposed to get, not your brother!”(.)
With these words he /lead/(led) the surprised debtor to the station.
