Hej derude!  Jeg har en del problemer med at "fordanske" mit engelsk. Derfor vil jeg blive meget glad for en rettelse af denne lille diskussion! :)

It’s difficult saying if the using of English in the Danish language is an advantage or a disadvantage. First of all there is

a lot to be said on both sides. In the first place using English is a way of communicate with people from all over the

world. Nowadays travelling from one continent to another is an everyday event, and all over the world people use

English to speak with each other. Secondly the English language makes us capable of working on the global work

market, since a lot of businesses uses the English language, and on top of that the universities in Denmark often

educate in English, which make it hard not knowing the English language. On the contrary losing the Danish language

might be losing a part of the Danish culture. If the English takes over, we might not see us as Danes, but more as a

part of one big global world, with identical language, and culture.

In the future Danish will might be threatened more by the English language. The young generation these days has

grown up using English in the colloquial language, and using English is normal. But Danish is already a Germanic

spoken language, filled with Latin, Greeks, German and English words. Personally I will continue using Danish and a

just see the English as an advantage for the global world and economic life. In conclusion I think that even though the

Danish is turning more and more into English, the Danish will still maintain as the national language in Denmark, with

national anthem, liturgical language and dialect which is a part of the Danish tradition.
