De ting der bekymre mig mest er nutids s'erne, opgaven handler om "the colombine shooting". 

Youth Culture and Youth Violance

Dr. Carl Taylor’s view on the columbine shooting:

Dr. Carl Taylor thinks the entertainment, and the parents is the scapegoat in the youth violence, he says in the text “I had a very disturbing conversation last week with an executive at MTV about its responsibility; they were declaring that they weren’t encouraging violence” The executive at MTV thinks that everything we see in the television. Dr. Carl Taylor thinks that the society is carried through the media, and the media have a lot of influence on the youth, that’s why the entertainment industry has to be aware of what kind entertainment they are broadcasting. Dr. Carl Taylor thinks removing the violence from the media wouldn’t solve the youth violence; the world is not that simple.

William F. Jasper’s view on the columbine shooting

William F. Jasper concludes that the past three decades access to all types of firearms has getting not easier, but more and more difficult to get. William F. Jasper tells in his text that it is common in America to have a gun in the house, and its common having the gun unlocked. Most of the children in USA knows where to find a weapon in their house, and even knows where to find an armoury, stocked with rifles and shotguns.
Weapons and especially guns, it’s a natural interest for boys and that’s the reason why hiding the gun is an excellent idea. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold (the high school seniors who committed the Columbine High School massacre) were not attracted to guns, but William F. Jasper thinks that the boys were a nihilist-hedonist-narcissist product of evil (Lack of sympathy, kind-heartedness and feelings).
William F. Jasper does not see Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold as the products of a gun-society right-wing religious bigotry, but as a self-indulgent, pagan gospel of “sex” drugs, and rock ‘n roll. Harris and Klebold were devotees of the hideous, Satanic “Goth rocker Marilyn Manson.
William F. Jasper claims that the music and texts Marilyn Manson have written, is filled with rage, alienation, death and despair.

Marilyn Manson’s view on the columbine shooting

Marilyn Manson mentions that the media has little to do with the youth violence. He uses the argument, that the history is filled with violence, murders, and assassinations. And no media was inspiring the killers in the beginning of time. Marilyn Manson and the spooky kids were created because of the despair and hypocrisy the world are filled with, and Marilyn Manson surely believes this as a hypocrisy scenario. Marilyn Manson believes that the media needed a scapegoat, and then they picked him, all evidences points away from Marilyn Manson, because Harris and Klebold disliked his music. Marilyn Manson thinks there is no one to blame for this tragedy, and then a teenager is old enough to drive a car or buy a gun, the teenager is old enough taking responsibility for the actions, with the freedom of life there is a burden of personal responsibility.
Marilyn Manson thinks the children of today is growing up in a cynical way, with all that knowledge and information, there is no where to run.

Marilyn Manson possible influence

Marilyn Manson is the father of punk-rock and the so called minister of “the church of Satan”.
He’s a role model for the young rebellion in the world, and he’s texts and music is reaching a lot of people in the world, as a controversial artist he’s doing he’s work. Marilyn Manson wants to challenge people’s idea about the world, and change the perspective of the youth.
“The fight song” is one of Marilyn Manson popular songs, and the songs chorus is very controversial and rebelliously, with the text “But I'm not a slave to god that doesn't exist
and I'm not a slave to a world that doesn't give a shit”.
That is one of the reasons Marilyn Manson is so hated by the religious right-wing, and that’s the reason why a lot of people fear his influence spreading towards the youth of the nation.

Discussion of the entertainment industry

The entertainment industry is aware of its products, all video games is marked with “factors”.
Factors as the fear factor, drug factor, sexual content factor, or the violence factor, its marked on all video games. In the most of American television shows, swearing is censored with a “bip-sound”, and the mouth is covered with a box, generally the entertainment industry is aware of their influence on the young people. Marilyn Manson says in the text that you can’t blame the media making teenagers into lunatics. It is part of human nature learning to refuse what’s wrong.
William F. Jasper thinks that bad sources in the media, such as Marilyn Manson, have to be stopped. Dr. Carl Taylor wants the parent’s attention, if we removed all the violence from the television, there would still be a lot of problems.
