What does it take to be a good police officer?

A good officer is one who shows up every day on time and does the right thing every day. He is able to work without supervision he is confident in his decisions and understands the criminals and have compassion for those who commit crime out of desperation. You can rely on him and trust him; he is a patient man that is brave enough to go into the dangerous zones to protect the peace even if it means that he will endanger himself. He does not abuse his power, and knows that the strongest tool he has, is neither his gun nor his handcuffs it is his mouth. He looks out for everyone be it a colleague or a criminal or a normal citizen. He is clean and does not send a wrong message with his outfit; he is fit and ready for anything anywhere anytime. He knows and realizes that society needs him but he doesn’t take advantage of it. On the contrary he appreciates it and is thankful for it. He never lets his guard down. He is not as a symbol of power, but one of peace. A police officer's duty is to maintain public order, preventing, and detecting crime. He does not take bribe. He can communicate well and has Sensitivity in difficult situations he can emotionally detach from personal situations According to the U.S. Department of Labor; police officers have one of the highest rates of on-the-job injury and illness. They also witness death and suffering due to accidents and criminal behavior. He can cope with the many challenges of his job and inspire the trust and confidence of his colleagues, supervisors, and the general public. He is the community role model. He has self discipline and self confidence but he is not arrogant. He wants to help; he expects nothing in return from society.

What is needed to become a police officer?

In Denmark you have to be 21 years old, you have to be a Danish citizen and have a drivers license and be a routine driver. You have to pass a bunch of tests like for example Danish, English and a physical test. It is important that you are unpunished. You must have good communication skills and be good at writing. You should also have a good knowledge of IT, be good at swimming and good at giving first aid. You have to be mentally and physically strong and have a reasonable height and normal vision.

Do I want to be a police officer? Why/ Why not?

No I do not want to become a police officer there is no special reason it is just that I am into science and math I am not good at running and so on, I do not have a normal vision because I obviously wear glasses.
I do not really find this job interesting but if I did I would definitely try it out.
I do not get me wrong It IS interesting just not to me. I would love to help people and such, but I want to help in a different way I want to help medically and as long as I am helping I would not feel bad that I am not helping via the law.
