The film called Gandhi is made by Richard Attenborough. It’s about an Indian man, who fights for independence and peace through his whole life. The film begins in South Africa, where Mahatma (Gandhi) works as a lawyer. As soon he arrives at the country he discovers the injustice damage the country and he encourages the Indian people in South Africa to begin a rebellion. He establishes his first ashram, where the caste concept doesn’t exist and where everybody is welcome. He fights against the Indians’ unfair passport-law with passive resistance. At last, the South African government surrenders and changes the passport-law. Gandhi goes home to India. He travels around in all India to visit every little part of the country. In India he starts to fight for the independence of India, and he decides that all revolts have to be non-violent, but unluckily a lot of Indians are slaughtered in Amristar, even there wasn’t any violence to the military. Gandhi is arrested because he wants independence; he went to jail in two years. Now he is very angry at the British Empire and he encourages all Indian people to burn their clothes, which are made in England. The next year he makes the Salt march. The Salt march, which is 400km long, is a protest against the royal monopoly on the sale and production of salt. Gandhi goes to jail again, when he is set free he goes to London to discuss the independence of India with Lord Erwin. In London he is also meeting Chaplin and the royal couple. In 1947 India becomes an independent State, but India divides up in Pakistan and India. This starts a lot of fights between Hindus and Muslims. Gandhi begins to fast because he wants the fights to stop. Luckily the fights stop and Gandhi can eat again. On a walk in the city he gets shot by a Hindu fanatic and Gandhi dies.

Synes ved et hurtigt overblik at det ser ganske nydeligt ud. Godt stykke arbejde.
