The article's focal points are the victims of cyber-bullying as well as the resulting consequences of this type of online harrasment. Two major problems are underlined: It has firstly become a bit more difficult for parents and caregivers alike to become aware of the bullying, while the other problem is that it is harder to avoid than tradition bullying due to it being easier to avoid someone in real life than on the internet or the phone.

The second text has a general focus on the internet and raises the following question in its headline: "Does the internet encourage insidious and bullying behavior?". The text gives details of the author's experience of an online chat room. Dr. Karen Dougles declares that the ability to be anonymous is a crucial instigator of cyber-bullying, and in addition to this, the text also deals with the way in which we socialize on the internet. According to the text, we socialize with people with whom we share similar opinions and thus create large online communities regarding things that we love, hate, or find interesting. This creates a demand for the average internet user to come up with counter-arguments when participating in online debates and basically be critical of what he or she reads online, which the text considers the positive side of the numerous hateful messages on the internet. To sum up, the two articles both deal with the change in people's behavior as a result of today's modern communication devices.
