E-tailing
Online trading also called e-tailing is the subject that I’ll now tell about. I think e-tailing is an interesting object, because the online trading is a new invention, which gives us an opportunity to go online and buy all the goods we want to. There’re a lot of positives things regarding buying online. E-tailing is much easier for both part, in other words for us the customers and for the manufacturer. The prices are lower and it’s also more unproblematic for the manufacturer, because they can have their own suppliers to deliver their goods. So instead of 2-3 links in the trading progress before the costumers will have the products, they can send it directly and that’s the reason why it’s cheaper for us. The companies can choose to move their firm online and close their shop. If businesses choose to do this, they will save staff, stocks and retailers. One of their few costs will then be the subscriber of the website and for the employers who have to pack the goods. They wouldn’t have to think about shoplifters and being responsible for the banks.
The progress is like this, you go online and choose the goods you want to and order it. Whether you pay with your credit card or with a bill after, you’ll still have the goods in the same quality like in the shops just few days after you have bought it. I’m maybe getting this to sound too good, but we’ve to remember that there’s also a backside of the medal. If you decide to buy online you won’t have the same service and get the exercise as you’ll get if you’re shopping normally. There’re threats such as hacking, spamming and the security isn’t a guarantee and there’s one more disadvantage, the size. You can’t try the goods so we won’t know if it’s fitting us, but the good thing is that there’s 14 days return right of each product. Some will maybe ask why there aren’t many shops online instead of the distribution in cities and malls. It would probably be much easier, but we’ve to remember that it would result in more unemployment and higher taxes. We’ll lose the social and the cozy about going out shopping, if it all ended up like that.
I don’t buy online very much myself, - first of all because I don’t have a credit card , but I think that I would if several did and if it was more widespread here in Denmark.
There’s distributes and disadvantages about it. Seen out from the costumers view would the prices be lower and the range bigger. The society’s view of this is looking very bad, unemployment will be much higher and many young workers won’t have a job. The taxes will rise and a lot of other things won’t work out. If I should see this out of my view would it be good and bad. Good because I could decide what time it was fitting me best by shopping, I just think that there’re bad things about it too. I would definitely miss the total-experience about shopping, as much as the nice social feeling about it. I wouldn’t be able to touch and see the product, only see it on a picture.
My opinion is that we shouldn’t do more with the development concerning the e-tailing, because it’s good that we still can decide what shopping-mood we’re in.
