I am writing to you on behalf of British Dietetic Association because it has come to my attention that there is a new ongoing development in the processed foods industry, called cosmetic foods. The development of cosmetic foods, led by you and L’Oreal, is quite concerning to me. This product is targeted children and teenagers, who are easily manipulated, and when you mix provisions with cosmetics you step beyond the line of reason and rightfulness. There is no fairness in making a useless product, and getting the younger audience to buy it by advertising with models and other celebrities. Because, ladies and gentleman, I think we all know that people just need to eat balanced diets with enough vitamins and nutrients to look well.
The way you target the elder target group by claiming improved physical features including hair, skin eyes and nails if they use your products frightens me. A lot of men go bald, and there is just nothing to do about it. The way you market your cosmetic foods it sound like you have this wonder product that will stop men from going bald. That is just not the case, there is no wonder product, and desperate men all over the world will be tricked into buying this product. Another side effect of this new campaign would be people replacing their normal food with cosmetic foods, and that trend would be dangerous to some people, who do not have a lot of money beforehand.
If you proceed with your plans of developing the new cosmetic products, we at British Dietetic Association will do everything we can to make your products look bad. We will shed some light on this case, and use any means necessary to make the consumers think your new products are repulsive.
