På forhånd tak!
Outsourcing is a financial idea, which covers up, that a company chooses to buy articles from a subcontractor, products which the company earlier produced itself. The reason for taking this step could be;
• To obtain better quality by using a specialist, in preference to produce the product oneself
• To get a lower price
• To slim down and target the organization
Outsourcing has made great process within the past decade, mainly because it is a necessity in the struggle to gain market share.
The concept of outsourcing is often being mentioned in connection to the debate concerning globalization. A company chooses to relocate some of its functions to an eastern country, typically parts of its production – either run in its own “regi”? by a foreign subsidiary company or by using a foreign subcontractor.
The companies which take advantage of outsourcing, is often located in countries where the level of expenses and the corporation tax is high. By outsourcing a company might be able to reduce its pays and at the same time make use of a lower taxation, which leads to cheaper products.
An Indian engineer, which is just as skilled as the Danish, makes about a third of what a Danish engineer is being offered. The level of expenses does not just depend on the direct pay, but also productivity, including work ethic, transportation, delivery time, raw materials, spare parts for the machinery etc.
Critics of outsourcing see it as a drain of both jobs and tax revenues. Outsourcing is however a way to make a company more competitive than usual, which results in a survival of the parent company. By this, valuable functions such as product development and the prime production are kept in the country, from where is outsourced.

Her kommer lige lidt mere, dog uden dansk tekst .. :) Det fandt jeg ud af tog alt for lang tid, he he ! På forhånd tak ..
Most of the outsourcing companies are located in the USA, some in Australia and a smaller group located in Europe. Most of the outsourced workforce is Asian. All over the world loud protests against outsourcing have taken place. The protesters claim that some of the professionals might be dislocated; when processes are shifted, jobs are naturally shifted too. However, this kind of disloca-tion is mostly temporary and there are very few highly-skilled professionals who are actually losing jobs because of outsourcing.
The majority of outsourcing companies are moving to India, although the fact, that countries like China or Russia are offering better rates. The main reason of outsourcing is the availability of a large group of IT and manufacturing talents and a huge skilled workforce, at very reasonable prices. Foreign currency goes a long way in India and companies are saving billions of dollars by shipping out functions.
Outsourcing to India is expected to grow dramatically within the next years, according to research conducted in the USA. There has been a growth in the opposition to outsourcing, especially since it is not just low-wage manual jobs that are being shipped out to India. There is much pressure on governments to ban it altogether.

One criticism of outsourcing is that the quality of the products may suffer. But the outsourcing company has the freedom, and is able to move a company department back to its roots if its profits are suffering due to poor quality. A company like Dell started to outsource its customer service di-visions, but has now moved back to America as a result of poor quality. The decision to outsource has to be well considered, as failures may occur, but if the company does it correctly, it will benefit from higher profits. A company’s motivation for outsourcing is more or less identical to the motiva-tion for replacing workers with computers or machines. The intervention is done to maximize its productivity by lowering costs.
The outsourcing is considered as negative in the public debate. The medias show us how the Danish workers looses their jobs, as their former company chooses to relocate its production, which of course causes a negative feeling against it. The truth is however quite different. The Danish employment rate peaked in 2001, despite the rising globalization. Since then Denmark has undergone a fall in the em-ployment estimated to about 40,000 workers. This fall is however causes by the weakness of the US-dollar. The unskilled workers are in the most exposed position. The technological development in the Asian countries together with the low hourly rate makes them especially exposed. Several confirm inde-pendent of each other, that the Danish outsourcing of workplaces only causes an annual loss of 5000 Danish jobs. Around 260,000 new jobs are being created in Denmark each year, owing to a change in the demand or the introduction of new technologies. The textile and clothing sector is a line of business which is strongly affected by the outsourcing. The ones employed in the production sector have lost their jobs, but most of them have now found new jobs as designers etc.
All the indications are that rising outsourcing might become a great advantage for the Danish society. The outsourcing tendency is growing, and if Denmark keeps on exploiting and adapting itself to the international market, it all looks very positive. The outsourcing increases the competitiveness of the Danish companies which improves their chances of survival.
