How to tell a winner

The poet’s opinion about what a winner is that a winner is on the top, and the loser is at the bottom. A winner has energy and strength to say “I was wrong” if he for example makes a mistake. But still shall a real winner have sympathy for other people and doesn’t taunt the loser or other peoples. A winner is one who doesn’t boast about he/she had won, to the news media and have the opinion that it never can be perfect, because it can always be better. All in all is a winner one who had a good and a soft heart, and doesn’t are so pleased with oneself.

I admire the Danish handball coach Ulrik Wilbek, he is one of the best handball coaches, in the world and, he has an incredible ability to get the teams forwards to the medals. Ulrik has been coach in whole his life, he started as coach for Viborg HKs ladies in 1988. Then in 1991 he became head coach for the ladies national team, and already there he shows his qualities, he won VM-silver in 1993 and one year later he won EM-gold, and after followed VM-bronze, OL-gold, EM-gold and in 1997 gold with VM. As you can see, has I already rides him self in to the history books with all these titles, with only one team. But Ulrik continued with the success. After all the success with the ladies national team he stopped and started as handball coach in Viborg HK again. Then he won the Danish 1. Division with Viborg HK from 1999-2002.
Then he began to be interested I politic, so he steps off the handball coach carrier, and began to go for the politic. In 2005 stillede Ulrik op som kandidat til at blive borgmester in Viborg, it looks like he will win, but the same year the national handball coach for the men’s gets dismissal, and Ulrik was ask about he will stand in the lead for the men’s national team, and the answer was yes.
Many were asking them self about Ulrik Wilbeks ability to coach men’s instead of ladies, because there is a big difference between ladies and men’s handball. They first really test, was at EM I Switzerland in 2006, and it looks like he had pass. He brings the national team to the semi-final, and lost it, but he won the bronze match, and Denmark was happy for there medals.
The next test was the VM in Germany in 2007. Ulrik prepared the players more than 1 months forwards the tournaments, to get them mentally ready for one of the most important VM in the history, because last time Denmark came home from a VM with medals around the neck was for 40 years ago, so it would be the time to do it now.
VM 2007 started critical with a failure to Hungary, everybody in Denmark, think that I would be the same like the others years with one failure after others. But Denmark won the confidence back with a victory against Angola and Norway. Then Denmark was farther, and there they get a victory against Czech Republic, Russia, Spain and the last insignificant match against Croatia, the get a failure. In the quarter-final they should try to win over Island, and in a very exciting match, they won, and were ready to the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals they should meet Poland, and everybody says that it was a easy opponent, but it shows that I wasn’t because Denmark lost the match in overtime and immediately the Danish population thinks that I would be the same, with the also lost the bronze match like they joust to do. But this time Ulrik Wilbek wasn’t let the France take the bronze from Denmark so he, prepared the players mentally so they was ready to take the first VM medals in 40 years. From the start a the match Denmark was ready, and France wasn’t prepared as good as Denmark was, so Denmark came quickly in the lead, and after the half-time Denmark was ahead and it looks like they would win. But France came out from the half-time with a storm, they haul in a Denmark, but then Ulrik Wilbek took a time-out, and after that, Denmark was convincingly and won the bronze medal. Everybody was very happy, and everybody pleased Ulrik Wilbek for his ability to bring a handball team to victory.
As you can see, is Ulrik Wilbek a big handball coach, and he should writes into the history books, if he isn’t already. Ulrik won bronze with the men’s handball national team, and who knows maybe there will come more medals in the future. Ride now he is started to get some futures goals, and his big dream is to get the OL gold again with the men’s like he had done with the ladies. Ulrik Wilbek has been to 8 tournaments with a national team, and every time he came home he had a medal around the neck, and that can you call what you want, but I think it’s very spectacularly, and that it’s what I admire him for.
