St. Cecilia’s come up with a new idea that makes people thinking about if it is the right solution of a another way of education that children gunner work with. We haven’t seen similarly, because children in normal schools working in a different way. They have a lot of books and teachers that the school spends much money on. And the question is if it’s value that they focus on laptops rather than teachers and books. It’s after all a bit unusually when we look at schools who have suppressed the books and schoolbags. But when people take such a decision and shifts the way of education, and even down at the 11year old child it is hard to be convinced and believe that it’s the right decision.
St. Cecilia have taken the decision on the use of laptops, but I ask my self if the children really have it comfortable with the new system like the text says. My opinion is that we have grown up with books, schoolbags and of course where the whole education was, when the teacher getting the lesson to run. Now we see laptops that have taken on, and the learning process have changed. We could say that it is a great way of learning, but we haven’t seen the results. So I mean after we are seeing the children working with that laptops a while they gunner miss the old way of teaching. Because how funny is it, to set children to look and working at laptops the whole school day. They can’t have the team work on, and they must sitting at a laptop and working. They also can’t have the discussion to run in a class, while children have the focus on the laptops. They can Abuse the internet, and start to play games on it. Not just that, but we all now the messenger where people can communicate from the internet. I can imagine that the children are sitting there and communicate with their school friends by messenger while the head teacher Jeffrey Risbridger thinks that the school children are hard-working and concentrated. In this case the children abuse the opportunity of laptops and they spend the time on something else instead of making their jobs or homework. In the text they also write that the children have it difficult to make the homework. They are forced to make homework at school, after they are finished the school day at2.30pm. They can also start with the homework at the computer at home. But it’s not all parents get at computer to an 11-13 year old child. When I was in this age, I used the computer on games. Not just games, but children haven’t the big interest in computers in this age, because they rather want a play station. Children about the 11-13 year old could make use of the computer on, but it is rarely. The bad thing is, the child must look at the laptop screen the whole school day, and after that make homework at the computer at home or the laptop on school. First the children want to go home, relax and eating and it is hardly for them to start with at homework in school after 2.30. To look at a laptop screen is getting effect on children’s eyes, and they can risk getting glasses on a bad age. Just these imagine is getting me more and more uncomfortable with this newness of use of laptops the whole school day. It is not the laptops that get children to wear glasses, but a child spend much time on seeing television, games on play station and all these stuff have an effect on children. All what they do daily, is sitting front of a screen and we all know that is not a good thing for a little child. My opinion is that St. Cecilia have been fast on the decision of use of this method of learning, and they haven’t thinking of the bad things that could happening when they are using laptops. If we just see it from the good sites, it’s of course change my attitude about the use of laptops. Because the advantages have many benefits of using the laptops the whole school day. First every child of the 300 pupils get their own laptop, picked up in the morning and use across subjects. The laptops are a vital part of a state-of-the-art information and communication technology (ICT). Every classroom is equipped with electronic whiteboard, upon with teachers flash up their lessons, consigning the old fashioned handout to history. The children can do their homework onscreen at school and file it electronically for marking. They can also access and work on their school files from home computers. It all means knowledge via the internet. But I still mean that the laptops idea is not a good idea. People could make schools where we find both things. A school where laptops, books and teachers are used and that could St. Cecilia makes. Where we see a normal school day, where children sits front the teacher, but we also have laptops to fluctuate the school day on. Books are an important thing in the education, and we can’t constrain our pupils to read and get knowledge just from the internet. So to end with, my opinion is regarding the laptops and after my evaluations I have disclosed that the idea of a new system of education that St. Cecilia gunner make are after all waste of money. I can’t be convinced that it much better than books and teachers because all these disadvantages I mentioned playing an extensive role. The children need a learning process that are good, rational and fluctuated so the education doesn’t get boring. So it is not value for St. Cecilia to spend money on computers and they should rather spend the money on teachers and books. I also mean the idea of laptops could be used, but not every day just when they need to write a homework or others stuff’s. They can for example get special lessons to work with the laptops and getting knowledge via the internet so the focus is not just on the laptops but on something else.
