Hej... Er der nogen der vil rette mit abstract for grammatikfejl, stavefejl osv. da jeg er rigtig dårlig til engelsk. Er også lidt i tvivl om det er et abstract jeg har lavet.

Abstract
This paper examines which conditions the black North Americans lived under in the period from the end oft the 1776, the year for the declaration of independence, up till 1850. It is explained how the free North Americans lived in poverty as a result of their lacking education but also because of the racism which characterized the US society at that time. Furthermore it is explained how the slaves on the plantations in the south lived, and how they had no rights and were considered as the property of their master. In addition to that three texts are being analyzed in order to examine the conditions of the slaves in the South from a white mans point of view and from two former slaves’ point of views. Furthermore this paper analyses the book ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’ written by the American author Harriet Beecher Stowe. This paper analyses four characters in order to explain which impact the slavery has had on respectively white and black people. In addition to that the methods, which Stowe uses in order to influence the opinion of the reader, are being analyzed. This paper describes respectively the Missouri-compromise and the compromise of 1850 and estimates the importance of the slavery to the political development.
This paper concludes that Stowe uses a lot of methods, for example she influences the feelings of the reader and tries to draw parallels between the readers’ lives and the lives of the characters and the paper concludes that slavery was more a question of power and economy than a question of moral.
