My Topic: Football hooliganism

Why did I choose this topic?

I choose the topic Football hooliganism, because I’m really interested in football and hooliganism, I watch football weekly, and I enjoy watching it. I have played football for many years, which also do, that I find the topic interesting. Football hooliganism is a topic, which is very mention in the news, in documentary films, even in live football.

What is hooliganism?

Football hooliganism is seen by most to mean violence or disorder involving football fans. However there are two very specific 'types' of 'hooliganism'. The first is a spontaneous and usually low level disorder, caused by fans at or around football matches. The second type is an intentional violence, involving organised gangs, who attach themselves to football clubs, and fight firms from other clubs. Sometimes the fight begins within the match starts.

The world championship for national teams, take place every fourth year. It considers as the biggest event in the world, and every one is watching. For some people, football is everything, but sometimes, it goes wrong. When a fight between hooligans begins, it can be very violence. People are getting hardly injured or killed.

Great Britain is the island of hooligans. England, more precisely, is the place, where the worst and most violence hooligans are. Millwall and Chelsea, just near London, have the worst hooligans ever. They both hate each other, and they only wants to fight their teams adversaries.

Why are they hooligans?

It is difficult to speculate on what makes a person become a hooligan, because there are so many possible factors. It is impossible to claim that all "football hooligans" are of a certain age or class.

In societies like ours, a capacity for heavy drinking is generally recognised to be part of what 'being manly' is about. Males of all social classes are often encouraged, for example; to celebrate special occasions with their male friends by drinking to excess. Football trips abroad, seems regularly to involve male fans, by drinking heavily together in situations where drink, often is an unfamiliar kind. On occasions like this, situations can 'get out of hand' because Englishmen placed in an unfamiliar, and perhaps threatening, culture have had too much to drink. Also, many hooligan offences these days are related to the use of alcohol.

For most people, hooligans are just a problem. They makes trouble, violence and insecurity. Often hooligans make organized violence between 'hooligan gangs'.

What can we do about it?

It is unlikely that football will ever be totally free for hooligans. Whenever large groups of violence males get together, often under the influence of alcohol, there is the potential for disorder. All manner of legal means and policing tactics have been tried to control hooliganism. There isn’t a way to defeat hooligans. But the police can make it more difficult, for them

My Opinion

Of course I think hooliganism is wrong. A lot of hooligans don’t even fight for their clubs, they just fight because they want too. Instead of fighting each others, they should back their teams up, because football and violence doesn’t belong together.
You can’t stop hooliganism, but you can for example, make a register for violence hooligans, and make harder laws, for hooligans.

På forhånd, Tak!
