Nyhavn was an important trade route until the 1950’s, where it died as an active harbor. Over the next several years Nyhavn was known as one of the more sinister neighborhoods in Copenhagen, with pubs and prostitutes. In 1976(nineteen-seventy-six), it got reopened as a harbor for museum and veteran ships and the harbor was renovated through the 1980’s.

Hoy Nyhavn es una muy popular atraccíon turistica. Los gentes corren a ver el casa antiguo de H.C. Andersen y a ver las casas viejas.

Nyhavn contains many beautiful restaurants, cafes and bars of the expensive kind, and in the summer, people are sitting outside in sidewalkcafes.
There are also many people, who are just sitting on the quay, along the water with beer, and enjoying the sunshine and having a good time.

To experience Nyhavn, and other tourist attractions by the water, such as the little mermaid and Amalienborg Palace, you can take a guided tour from Nyhavn with a boat that takes you through the harbor and the canals of Copenhagen
