The Story Behind The White Blind Man And A Negro
You will see a white blind man if you look at the picture at page 93, this picture has been taken by a photograph in 1973 in South Africa.
The white man has been blind for about 12 years, this white man Mr. Smith is blind because he is suffering from a disease, the disease is diabetes.
He became blind of the disease because he did enjoy a really good meal and a really good piece of cake for his coffee, even though he was suffering from the disease diabetes.
So it would be at wrong if I told you that Mr. Smith did think about follow the diabetic diet, even though his doctor had told him, a number of times.
When Mr. Smith became blind, he could’t walk around alone so he did need a guide dog, but Mr. Smith is allergic to dogs.
So he did need another way to get around, but how?
In South Africa at that time was it still legal to keep negros as slaves. And mr. Smith was a wealthy man, so he did buy a negro to be his guide dog.
At the picture Mr. Smith and his “guide dog” are out for the regular Sunday stroll, at one of the many comfortable and small streets there are in South Africa.
Today it would be more than catastrophic if there was a white man there got at negro as his guide dog, just because he was blind, wealty and allergic to dogs.
But in 1973 in South Africa did white people not see negros as regular people just like them self, but more like animals or black people with no rights.
