Hej håber nogen har tid til at rette dette igennem. Haster rigtig rigtig meget :-//...

Culture is a big problem for some people in a relationship, but the biggest question is can a relationship function when there is a different culture in a relationship? The short story “Driving” by Suzanne Karama, is about an American woman named Yvonne, who has moved to Japan because she is married to a Japanese named Ryu. It is a big step, because his culture is rather different from American culture. This story gives us a reality insight into a life between two people from two different cultures. To get my results I have analyzed the story to find out where the biggest problem is, and in this story the problem is that Yvonne doesn’t seem to be a free person. E.g. In Japan, Yvonne does not drive a car, and it is up to her husband to transport her. In my analysis of the story I have found out that a woman who moved to Japan has to accept the way they live on and that Japanese men often live separately from their families, and returning to their wives and children only at the weekends.
My conclusion of the story “Driving” is that a relationship can function even if you come from to rather different culture. Either you have to according to conform the culture even if it can be much difficult, or you can do the same as Yvonne, she realizes that she has to learn to drive a car in Japan, so she does not end up like her mother-in-law.
