'Care for' betyder 'want'
2. Al Smith has found proof that Bigfoot is more than (just) a myth.
Det er forbudt at bruge præposition(her: 'of') foran 'that'.
myte: 'myth'
3. Have you thought about the fact that the trip will be much more expensive than calculated?
Igen samme problem med præposition ('about') foran 'that'. Konstruktionen med 'the fact' er en anelse tung, og man kan således overveje alternativet:
3. Have you thought about the trip being much more expensive than calculated?
4. Granddad (el. 'Our grandfather') always told us about how he had fought (against) the Indians.
'fought', ikke 'fougt
'against' kan udelades
5. She was disappointed that she failed to pass the examination (el. bare 'exam').
6. Could you ensure that all formalities are taken care of before the trip?
Samme problem med 'care for' som i den første sætning.
