Jeg skal alve rettelserne til snart, og har ret svært ved at finde dem.

Wounded Knee has become the headquarters of the Native Americans new resistance because it was here their forefathers were finally defeated in the war against the white men advance. The 29th of December 1890, about 300 unarmed men, women and children from the Sioux-tribe were slaughtered by USA’s 7th cavalry regiment.
This decimation by one of Americans strongest tribes result in that the Indians helpless have to watch while the Yankees captured the Wild West.
The history behind the massacre, which is described in the best seller of Dee Brown, “Bury my heart in Wounded Knee”, is following:

A medicine man named, Wovoka, had predict that with help of the magic power which were in a specific tribe dance could drive the white man away and at the same time get buffaloes return to the American plains.
Within a year the white civil servants, who managed reservations of the Indians, forbid the dance and this lead to more armed episodes. The 15th of December the famous chief, Sitting Bull, was arrested as one of the guilty. It was him who had leaded the strength of Sioux- and Cheyenne-Indians that in 1876 wiped out General Custer and his cavalryman. Sitting Bull was shot down of those men who had to arrest him.
Furious about Sitting Bulls dead, chief Big Foot lead his warriors out of the reservation to join a bigger force under chief Red Cloud, a few days later.

The 28th of December the two groups of Indians was caught up by the 7th regiment near Wounded Knee; they got disarmed, arrested and accused for leaving the reservation without permission. The Indians were driving together to a small place, and a ring of soldiers were sat around them. Early next morning there were fired a single shot. No one knew by whom. The shot make the soldiers open fire with everything they had of heavy weapons and primitive machineguns, and all the Indians were laying dead a little after. They were buried in a mass grave.
Today there live about 10.000 Sioux-Indians in Pine Ridge-reservation as they call it themselves, the land of Red Cloud.

På forhånd tak

Selv tak.

Begge kan nok godt bruges, men for variationens skyld kan man skifte mellem forskellige muligheder..

"On the 28th of December" er som man udtaler det, men ikke ofte skriver.

Normalt ville man i dag skrive    "On 28 Dec.."  (UDEN punktum efter tallet)
