All people have some moments in their lives that they can call for "Star moments." One of my great moments, I experienced with my great passion for the soccer team Brondby IF. That was when Brondby IF outplayed FC Copenhagen, at Brøndby Stadium. This day was absolutely fantastic and can be described as a historical moment for, me and many other Brondby fans. I always look forward to Sunday evening, where Brondby IF's matches begins. As an employee of Brondby IF, and as a very loyal fan, the joy for me to see the ball being treated smoothly in awesome dribbling, for afterwards to be shot into the goal, for my and other fans great excitement. It delights me every time, when the blue-yellow devils from the "West coast" creates a good result!
When I have time for it, I usually go seeing Brondby IF play. - Especially when they play at Brondby Stadium. On 16. May 2005 I experienced MY historical moment. It is a day I'll never forget. The day came, when Brondby IF should play against FC Copenhagen at Brondby Stadium. Brondby IF outwitted FC Copenhagen with 5-0, and I remember it, like it was yesterday. A lot should go wrong, if Brondby IF didn't manage to take the 10th Championship. There was now a gap of eight points down to FC Copenhagen, which was in second place, and with six rounds again, it could hardly go wrong for Michael Laudrup's troops. Michael Laudrup was a fantastic head coach of Brondby IF. He could really press the right buttons, and give his players the motivation they needed.
The match was underway, and Brondby IF got a terrific start, when Daniel Agger headed the home team ahead after just four minutes of play. Thomas Kahlenberg came up with the scoring to 2-0 after a great goal kick from the goalkeeper, Casper Angergren, just eight minutes later. There were any doubt about the victory - only the size of the victory. Daniel Agger, Thomas Kahlenberg, Johan Elmander and Morten Skoubo scored Brondby's 5 goals. Thomas Kahlenberg scored two goals. There was an absolutely fantastic atmosphere on the battens at Brondby Stadium. 26,418 spectators watched Brondby outwit the rival's poor defense. This year was a totally unique year for all Brondby fans. The same year Brondby won the Cup tournament, and the Danish Championship.
With over 15,000 members of Brondby Support, is Brondby IF the club in Denmark, which has the largest fan base. And as an extra bonus, Brondby's fans year after year, has been voted as the best fans! For me, this means that I feel like, I'm a part of a community that is indescribable. A community that many people probably would not completely understand. It is fantastic to stand on the "FAXE Tribune", along with all the other supporters, and sing along to all Brondby's songs, is for me incredibly life-affirming! The greatest joy, is when Brondby is in good fortune. - On the back of Brondby Support's membership card, is the statement: Strong in prosperity, Loyal in adversity. Joy can also disappear quickly. Not because Brondby is in adversity, but because there are huge differences in Brondby Support and a group called "Southside." Southside comes only to engage in violence and has no connection to Brondby Support. People like those from Southside, are the ones who's destroying Brondby IF's honor and reputation. For about a month ago, FC Copenhagen played against Brondby IF in "Parken", Copenhagen. That day Brondby lost 2-0. It was a very sad day. Not just because Brondby lost, but also because the "South Sides" burned seats, threw fireworks, beer, etc. On the track. This has now led to that DBU (Danish Football Union) has taken up the case, and will now decide, what the punishment for this should be. So far, it has only led to Brondby IF must pay a fine of 200,0000 Danish kroner. A fine is nothing compared to what the punishment could be. The punishment could end out of, that Brondby's matches will be played behind closed doors, at a neutral stadium or that Brondby will be deducted points in the Super League. This may have important implications for who will win the Danish Championship. I think it is a shame, that there are a handful of troublemakers, who must destroy it, for the rest of us loyal fans, who just loves when Brondby IF play's football.
I have only one thing to say at the end. - I'm with Brondby till I die!
