Hej, jeg har skrevet en stil om en rejse og håber nogle lige vil kigge den igennem for de fejl jeg helt sikkert har lave.
Her er den så:
Sharm el Sheikh is the name of every diver’s Mecca, and also it is the name of the place to which my dad and I were going this year’s spring.
It was the twentyoneth of March at half past two in the morning when the alarm clock went off, and we had to go to the airport in Billund. About four ours later, half past six, we checked in and handed over the 50kg heavy luggage to the porter, at that we had the 10kg carry-on luggage in which our most fragile diving equipment, i.e. the regulators, the computers, the camera etc. At 8 o’clock the plane took off and the feeling of a holiday seriously commenced. The flight went well and after roughly six ours we realized how cloudy, freezing and gloomy the weather actually is at this time of the year in Denmark. When we had got our luggage from the conveyor we went out to see if anyone had come to pick us up and after some time we found an obliging man from the crew waiting patiently, for us, in his car. We drove to the harbour of Sharm el Sheikh and met, besides the crew, the two, of the four persons, with whom we had to live onboard in the following week. They were South Africans and came from Melville, Johannesburg – Gretel and Brian they were called. They thought it was a bit chilly up north in Egypt, naturally because they came from even higher temperatures in a country closer to the Equator. Some ours later the last two passengers came and went onboard on King Snefro 4, which was the name of the boat. They were, as us, also Danes and came from Copenhagen – Uffe and Lene they were called; a mother and a son of 22 and, as the South Africans, they were very pleasant people because of their friendly way of being. At 6:00 pm we went out of the harbour and to a neighbouring place, called the Temples; there we had our first dive – a dive in the nice, warm and very salty water. The last dive I had had was in December, home in Denmark with a water temperature of 5°C so these 23°C felt like heaven. Also there was a visibility of about 30 meters in the clear and pure water contrary to the turbid and unclear Danish waters with a visibility of only about 5 meters. After the night dive they had made us a very delicious supper which we consumed with big relish. After eating we went to bed and got some sleep until we were woken early in the morning the following day. At 8 o’clock we already had had our first dive of the day at a very beautiful place called Ras umm sid. We saw a lot of big Napoleonfish, the cute Anemonefish (– better known as a Nemo) and also a lot more, but telling about everything would take up a lot of space that I do not have in this essay. Just before lunch we had the second dive of the day at an old wreg called Yolanda – very exciting. Later we made a dive at a beautiful coral reef. I. a. we saw a big turtle and many ugly morays with a chillingly way of showing their sharp teeth. The next day, early in the morning, we went to the wreck that the Red Sea is known for – The Thistlegorm. It was sunk in 1941 after being attacked from the air by the Germans because it was carrying war supplies such as motor bikes, train carriages, rifles and trucks to the British in Cairo under the World War II. It sank to about 30 meters but is unusual well-preserved, only the astern of the ship is ruined so from there we started penetrating the wreck – very fascinating I think. At this wreck we had two dives which were absolutely the very best of them all. One of the following days we had a dive at a reef called Shag Rock, very beautiful but the current was very strong which after the dive caused that we were very far away from the boat and therefore the crew could not see us. Luckily they found us after almost half an our, so we were not eaten by a shark this time. Now I’ve used my space so I will finish this essay here; This trip has been, as the heading indicate, a memorable trip of my life and I hope to go there again sometime.
