Life’s conditions which the human being is to accept is very well described in this short story A Journey by Colm Toibin where the poor mother Mary is trying to solve all the problems that life has encumbered her with.

The story is told in third person narrator; still Mary’s view of things seems to play an important role in our understanding of the themes. The story consists of many flashbacks where the mother casts her mind back while driving her only son home from hospital.

Life is does not always turn out as you have expected. Life’s conditions which the human being Man is to must accept is are very well described in this Colm Tobin's short story "A Journey" by Colm Toibin where about the a poor mother, Mary, who is trying to solve all the problems that with which life has encumbered her with.
The short story takes the reader into the life of a little small family of three persons; Mary, the mother Mary, her Mary's husband, Seamus, and their only son, David. The story is told in through a third person narrator, but still Mary’s view of things still seems to play an important role in our understanding of the themes. The story consists of many flashbacks where the mother casts her mind back reminisces while driving her only son home from the hospital.
