Most of the short story takes place on the barren concrete ground in front of US Borders Agency, where Max sit up a war and roll some cigarettes. We get the impression of that Max lives a lot here when he do not is in school because he know who the usual people is, who normally hang out there. But he still doesn't know what kind of buillding he is sitting next to. One of the types, who moves around in the area, is a hairless tattooed guy with a little snappy dog, who are allowed to run and sniff and snap at other people. The environment seems rough and tough and as a place where everyone looks after itself. The short story starts and ends at the home of Max's mother, where he is soundly in her bed. The home is in sharp contrast to the city where Max roam. At home with mother's tea, comfortable arms and a duvet to snuggle under.
