The Dictator

Everybody knows Charlie Chaplin’s name, but no one watches his movies today, what a shame.
His very best movie is maybe the Dictator, a movie that I can’t get rid of my mind. In this movie Chaplin plays a Jewish barber who is involved in the battle against the regime who oppresses the Jewish people. Chaplin do also play the mad dictator Hynkel, who the Jewish people hate and fear. Hynkel is exactly a parody on Hitler. The scene which I remember best is the one where Hynkel juggles with a balloon in which there is a world map painted. It’s a wonderful moment when the baloon blows and Hynkel breaks down. (That) Chaplin shows us in the movie about liberty and dictatorship, is exactly like millions of people who was oppressed would have said in 1940 when the movie was released.

Tak :D
