Jeg har lavet et lille resume til min essay. Den er sikkert fuld af mange fejl, så hvis du kan finde nogen ville det være fedt med nogle rettelse, som fx komma, stavefejl osv.
A. Summary
Xmas is a short story about an earlier teacher of political science. He’s a middle- aged man called Gregory Dodd. He has been in two marriages. His first marriage was a short one but the other one was a 15- year old commitment where he got three children. Nevertheless he says that he is ready to get seriously involved with another new woman, the 10 year younger, Susan. Susan is a single mother of three girls. Their living standards are very low. They live in a poor neighbourhood outside Boston. Susan’s job is to photographing.
The story takes place on a snowy night Christmas Eve where Gregory is on his way from New Hampshire to Jamaica Plain. He’s driving his Audi that is filled up with presents.
On his way to Susan he gets into a problem. The car in front of him suddenly stopped, and it forced Gregory to hit the brakes. Two black men, around the same age as himself, go over to Gregory. Meanwhile Gregory is about to apologize, one of the men simply hits him in the face with no reason. They leave Gregory beaten with a bloody mouth. He gets at first very angry, but
As the time goes on, he gets more calm. On his way to Susan he starts to think about his second ex-wife and there children. He dreams that this situation never happened and that he never got separated from his children and wife.
