We do not know much about Shakespeare’s life. He comes from the small provincial town of Stratford, which lies on Avon. The father was a workman and he was a member of the town council; for three years he was mayor as well. Shakespeare has probably gone to the Stratford Grammar School, which can still be seen in the town, but we do not know much about what he learned in school.
In 1582, when he was 18 years old, he married Ann Hathaway who was 7-8 years older; she was the elder daughter of a wealthy farmer of substance. Their first child was born the year after, only six months after the wedding; afterwards they got twins as well. There are several explanations to why Shakespeare went to London, but most of the explanations are anecdotes from a later time. Some research workers think that he became a member of a theatre company, which was on a visit to Stratford.
The first time we hear about him again, is in 1592, and at that time he is a well-known person in London. He is most noted for his performing as an actor and as a play writer, but he was also owner of the Globe Theatre.

Mit forslag:

The father was a workman and he was a member of the town council; for three years he was mayor as well. Shakespeare has probably gone to the Stratford Grammar School, which can still be seen in the town, but we do not know much about what he learned in the school.

Dette var hvad jeg fandt af rettelser:

Linje 7, det hedder eldest daughter.

Linje 8, tror godt man kan sige "their first child was born the following year".

THIS time he is a well-known...."

Med hensyn til Svar #2 "and at this time he is a well-known..." er jeg meget i tvivl. Nogle der kan hjælpe? Hedder det "at THIS time" eller " at THAT time"?

Ville nok sige:
- HIS father was a workman, a member of the town council and for three years he was mayor as well.

- When he was 18 years old (1582), he married Ann Hathaway who was 7-8 years older than he. She was the eldest daughter of a wealthy farmer of substance.
- Their first child was born the following year - only six months after the wedding. Later on, they had twins as well.
